Branding & Identity
Brand identity is the set of decisions that make your business recognisable without the logo being visible. Written down properly, it stops every new page, deck and post being an argument about colours.
How we approach it
Find the one non-negotiable
Every brand has a single constraint everything else answers to. Naming it early is what stops the result looking like a template.
Design the system, not the logo
A logo alone is not an identity. Palette, type scale, spacing and imagery rules are what make the twentieth asset look related to the first.
Test it where it will live
On a phone, a signature, a social avatar at 48 pixels. Marks that only work large are a recurring problem.
Write it down
A guideline document with the files, the rules and the reasoning — so anyone can apply it later without asking.
Common questions
What is included in a brand identity project?
A primary logo with variants for small and single-colour use, a colour palette with accessible contrast, typography and a scale, imagery direction, and a guideline document holding the rules and reasoning together with the source files.
How is branding different from UI/UX design?
Branding decides how the business looks and sounds everywhere — site, deck, social, invoice. UI/UX decides how the product works. They overlap in the interface, which is why doing them in that order avoids rework.
Do we need a full rebrand or just a refresh?
A refresh works when the name and positioning still fit and the visual layer has aged. A full rebrand is for when what the business does has changed enough that the current identity actively misleads people.
